Basketball Recap: Coon Rapids Comes Up Short

Coon Rapids lost to Elk River back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell 73-63 to the Elks.

Coon Rapids dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Elk River, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Coon Rapids will take on Champlin Park at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Elk River, they will face off against Centennial at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Elks will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
