            Softball Recap: Red Bank Catholic Caseys vs. Middletown North Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Red Bank Catholic had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Middletown North on Wednesday. The Caseys never let the Lions get on the board and left with  a   7-0  victory. The result was nothing new for the Caseys, who have now won three matchups by six  runs or more  so far this season.
Not much got past  Lily Hagan, who gave up just  three  hits and racked up six Ks to keep Middletown North off the board. Hagan has been consistent : she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Nicole Knox, who  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and three  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Grace Lombardi, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.

The  win was  the fourth in a row for Red Bank Catholic, bringing their record up to 6-1. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Middletown North, their defeat  ended  a  seven-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 5-2.
 Coming up, Red Bank Catholic will venture away from home to  challenge Freehold Township  at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Middletown North, they will square off against Morris Catholic at 3:30  p.m.  on Saturday.
