Yorktown had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Washington-Liberty Generals. That's two games straight that Yorktown have won by just one goal.

Yorktown pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Washington-Liberty, they moved to 11-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
