Basketball Recap: Satanta Comes Up Short

Satanta lost against Ingalls back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Satanta Indians had to suffer through a 66-30 loss at the hands of the Ingalls Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 127th).

Leading Ingalls to victory were Jill Schmeeckle and Olivia Stein. Schmeeckle dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten boards, while Stein dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Schmeeckle a new career-high in assists (five). Jennasey Stoudemire was another key player, putting up nine points and five steals.

Satanta has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Ingalls, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

After both having extra time off, Satanta and Spearville will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another on February 4th. As for Ingalls, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Minneola at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. Ingalls is facing Minneola at the right time seeing as Minneola is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
