Softball Game Preview: Woodlawn Bears vs. Parkers Chapel Trojans

The Woodlawn Bears will square off against the Parkers Chapel Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodlawn is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.

On Monday, Woodlawn sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Warren.

Laci Rauls looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Kendall Tooke was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Lilly Joe Bradley, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Woodlawn hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Parkers Chapel came into Tuesday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Ouachita 14-4 on Tuesday.

Woodlawn's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Parkers Chapel, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.

Everything went Woodlawn's way against Parkers Chapel in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Woodlawn made off with an 11-4 win. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
