Baseball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

Richland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chestnut Ridge Lions. The Rams were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Kaden Korenoski was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Richland's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chestnut Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland will venture away from home to challenge Westmont Hilltop at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hilltoppers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Chestnut Ridge, they will head out to face off against Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
