Softball Recap: Lanesville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Scottsburg

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lanesville). They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Scottsburg Warriors on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the match before.

Madelyn Magner was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cheyenne Gunn, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lanesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scottsburg only managed five hits.

Lanesville's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Scottsburg, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanesville will take on Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Scottsburg, they will square off against Trinity Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
