Football Recap: Tonopah's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Tonopah had won five straight games and Dustin Otteson did his part to make it six on Friday. The Muckers walked away with a 26-16 win over the Pahranagat Valley Panthers with plenty of help from Otteson, who rushed for 275 yards and three scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 132 yards on only nine passes. Otteson is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 116 every time he's taken the field this season.

Adelaido Salgado was another key player, picking up 75 receiving yards and one TD. He didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended one pass.

One reason for the win was Tonopah's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Landen Blackburn was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Tonopah's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Pahranagat Valley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Tonopah and Pahranagat Valley will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Muckers see the field they'll take on Spring Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Pahranagat Valley, their break will end when they face Sandy Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
