Softball Recap: Gaston Sets Scoring Season-High Against Western Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gaston). They put the hurt on the Western Christian Pioneers with a sharp 21-5 win on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Gaston pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Western Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.

Looking ahead, Gaston will be playing at home against Clatskanie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Greyhounds surely won't give up without a fight. As for Western Christian, they are taking a road trip to face off against Colton at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.79 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
