Baseball Recap: Cheatham County Central Comes Up Short

Cheatham County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cheatham County Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Hannah, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Cheatham County Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheatham County Central will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hickman County at 6:30 p.m. on the 31st. As for Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, they will challenge Maplewood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet their first taste of in-conference action this season.
