Basketball Recap: Tupelo Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Tupelo had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Murrah Mustangs by a score of 55-45. Given the Golden Wave's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Mustangs are ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tupelo pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Murrah, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Tupelo will take on Germantown at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Murrah, they will host Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
