Softball Preview: Carmel Greyhounds vs. Fishers Tigers
The Carmel Greyhounds will head out on the road to take on the Fishers Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Carmel will be strutting in after a victory while Fishers will be coming in after a loss.
Carmel can't be too worried about heading out to take on Fishers: they just beat Mooresville at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. Carmel came out on top in a nail-biter against Mooresville on Friday and snuck past 6-5.
The team relied heavily on Mia Fleming, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Longstreth, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Fishers' offense. They lost 6-0 to Avon on Tuesday.
Carmel has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-14 record this season. As for Fishers, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Carmel was able to grind out a solid win over Fishers in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 8-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carmel since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
