            Softball Recap: Hononegah Indians vs. Lane Tech Champions        
        
		
        
        
            Hononegah waltzed into their match  on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with  a   10-7  victory over the Lane Tech Champions.
 Irelyn O'Brian made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news, Hononegah got a  massive  performance out of  Mackenzie Haas, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. That  home run was  Haas' first of the season. Another player making a difference was  Zoie Calhoun, who  went 3-for-5 with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run.

 Hononegah  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 18  hits. That's the most  hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Hononegah's record is now 6-1. As for Lane Tech, they moved to 9-6 with that  loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
 Looking ahead, Hononegah is taking a road trip to  square off against Antioch  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Lane Tech, they will venture away from home to  challenge McHenry  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
