Baseball Recap: Hazen Comes Up Short

If Hazen was riding high fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Mercer Island on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highlanders fell just short of the Issaquah Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Highlanders haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Hazen got a good showing from Logan Grossnickle, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Grossnickle has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hazen saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gordon Williamson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hazen's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Issaquah, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hazen will take on Bellevue at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Issaquah, they will face off against Woodinville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
