Montevallo and Calera are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Bulldogs will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montevallo will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each match than the last.

Montevallo took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Sylacauga. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

While Montevallo won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Calera was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Jemison.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 27-25, 25-22.

Montevallo's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Calera, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Montevallo beat Calera 3-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
