The Aurora Huskies will challenge the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Aurora not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 8th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against Central City as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.
Aurora not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Central City between 15 and 18 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17, 25-18.

Aurora had a senior duo take command as Trinity Uhrmacher had 16 digs and two aces and Paityn Wyatt had nine digs and two aces. Uhrmacher has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 13 times she's played. Kaitlyn Staehr also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Meanwhile, Ashland-Greenwood hadn't done well against Malcolm recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bluejays skirted past the Clippers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bluejays have posted since October 30, 2024.
Ashland-Greenwood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 22-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-6.
Aurora's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's matchup: Aurora has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game.
