Mitchell hasn't had much luck against Watertown recently, but that could start to change  on Thursday. The Kernels will face off against the Arrows at 6:30  p.m. Mitchell is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last six games.
Mitchell took  a  three-set  defeat the last time they faced off against Jefferson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Kernels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  victory over the Cavaliers  on Tuesday.
 Mitchell wouldn't go down easily and took Jefferson into a fifth set  where they got it done with a seven-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 24-26, 19-25, 27-25,  15-8.

 Cassidy Korzan and  Londyn Hajek were among the main playmakers for Mitchell as the former  had nine  digs and two  aces and the latter  had 14  digs and one  assist. That's the most  digs  Korzan has posted  over her last seven  matchups.
 They weren't the only good servers: Mitchell  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 13  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least five  aces in nine consecutive  matches.
Meanwhile, Watertown faced Lincoln in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Arrows came up short against  the Patriots, falling  3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  loss the Arrows have suffered  since September 16th.
 The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14,  25-21.
 Mitchell's record now sits at 12-4. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
 Mitchell suffered a grim  3-0 defeat to Watertown  when the teams last played  back in September of 2024. Can the Kernels avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
