Mills had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-10 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the San Mateo Bearcats 7-5. The game was the first time the Vikings have beaten the Bearcats on their field since April 30, 2022.

Givanni Angelini was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kendrick Choi was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Joshua Huei, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for San Mateo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 21st.

On San Mateo's side, Tyce Copus was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Brandt, who went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Coming up, Mills will face off against El Camino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for San Mateo, they will take on Cupertino at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
