Baseball Recap: Putnam City Pirates vs. Frederick Bombers
Putnam City had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Frederick Bombers a 6-0 shutout on Saturday. The Pirates not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 11-1).
Bryson Vanover made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Andrew Simon looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Putnam City is 2-1 when Simon allows one or fewer hits, but 2-32 otherwise.

Those two stolen bases gave Fast a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damon Prince Hopkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
