Softball Preview: Barberton Magics vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders
For the first time this season, Barberton will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Barberton got the win against Chippewa by a conclusive 10-3.

Cassie Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Layla Murrey and Natalie Snider did most of the damage at the plate: Murrey scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Snider went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Eliana Garrard, who scored a run while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past Cuyahoga Falls 8-7.
