Volleyball Recap: Grandview Starts off Right with Win over Mountain Vista + How To Watch

Grandview had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolves have posted against the Golden Eagles since November 3, 2018.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (102-96) Grandview actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-23, 19-25, 12-25, 25-19, 15-10.

Leading Grandview to victory were Ruby Igel and Amelie Pigeaire. Igel had ten digs and two assists, while Pigeaire had 16 kills and two aces. Those 16 kills gave Pigeaire a new career-high.

Brie Bowyer and Anna Morella certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Bowyer had 17 assists and 11 digs, while Morella had seven digs and three aces.

Grandview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Chaparral on the 26th. As for Mountain Vista, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Lewis-Palmer on the 26th.
