Volleyball Recap: O'Neill Comes Up Short

If O'Neill was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ponca on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Norfolk Catholic Knights on Monday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-12.

Mariah Kallhoff paced O'Neill's offense, picking up 11 kills. Kallhoff got some help from Hannah Hilker and her 18 assists. Hilker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Norfolk Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

O'Neill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norfolk Catholic, they will take on Battle Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
