Preview: South County Stallions vs. West Potomac Wolverines
The South County Stallions will take on the West Potomac Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, South County didn't have too much trouble with West Potomac at home as they won 32-17. Given South County's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while West Potomac is ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jordan Dennis looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 305 yards and four touchdowns. Tommy Martz was another key contributor, gaining 136 total yards and two touchdowns.
South County pushed their record up to 8-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.33 points. As for West Potomac, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
South County strolled past West Potomac when the teams last played on Friday by a score of 32-17. The rematch might be a little tougher for South County since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
