Soccer Game Preview: Cannon vs. Covenant Day

Cannon hasn't had much luck against Covenant Day recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cannon's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Winston Salem Christian 1-0.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Lions on Thursday. Covenant Day was the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Ambassador Christian School. Considering Covenant Day has won seven matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Ambassador Christian School with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Will Farrow, Henry Neil, Jack Freace, and Brady Johnson.

Covenant Day is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 13-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those six contests. As for Cannon, their win bumped their record up to 9-7-1.
