Preview: Cedartown Bulldogs vs. Southeast Whitfield County Raiders
Cedartown has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Southeast Whitfield County Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southeast Whitfield County took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Cedartown, who comes in off a win.
A well-balanced attack led Cedartown over Sonoraville in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Cedartown blew Sonoraville out of the water with a 45-0 final score. Given Cedartown's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Sonoraville is ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cedartown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tae Harris out in front who rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards. Cedartown also got a significant boost from Jakobe Dorsey, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Meanwhile, Southeast Whitfield County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Central on the road and fell 61-0.
Cedartown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Southeast Whitfield County, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Cedartown against Southeast Whitfield County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 48-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cedartown since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
