Softball Game Preview: Lakeside Warriors vs. Choudrant Aggies

The Lakeside Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Choudrant Aggies at 5:35 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Choudrant likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, Lakeside was able to grind out a solid win over Minden, taking the game 10-6.

McKenna Chreene spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emily Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Meredith Robinson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Choudrant didn't have quite enough to beat Simsboro on Wednesday and fell 8-7.

Lakeside's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Choudrant, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
