Softball Preview: Lakeside Warriors vs. Choudrant Aggies
The Lakeside Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Choudrant Aggies at 5:35 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeside knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Choudrant likes a good challenge.
On Wednesday, Lakeside was able to grind out a solid win over Minden, taking the game 10-6.
McKenna Chreene spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Emily Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Meredith Robinson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Choudrant didn't have quite enough to beat Simsboro on Wednesday and fell 8-7.
