Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Falcons vs. Navajo Prep Eagles

Northwest hasn't had much luck against Navajo Prep recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Eagles at 3:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Northwest turned things around against Thoreau on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks a 9-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Navajo Prep posted their closest victory since April 30, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Laguna Acoma 12-11. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Navajo Prep got a massive performance out of Khol Johnson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Nehemiah Simpson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Navajo Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Navajo Prep's victory bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Northwest, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
