Basketball Recap: Brandon Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Franklin County over Tullahoma

Franklin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Tullahoma Wildcats on the road by a 59-45 margin. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Wildcats are ranked 72nd).

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Walker, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 10 points and five boards. What's more, Walker also posted two steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Tyson Kennerly was another key player, putting up 11 points.

It was another big night for Khani Johnson, who went 10-for-13 on his way to 27 points for Tullahoma. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xavier Farrell, who went 8-for-16 en route to 18 points.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Tullahoma, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Franklin County has already played their next game, a 76-59 defeat against Marshall County on the 13th. As for Tullahoma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-62 loss against Giles County on the 13th.
