Soccer Recap: Gainesville Comes Up Short

Gainesville lost to Celina back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Leopards lost 4-0 to the Bobcats. While losing is never fun, Gainesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 295th, while Celina are ranked 37th).

This is the second loss in a row for Gainesville and nudges their season record down to 11-8-1. As for Celina, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 19-1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gainesville is set to square off against their familiar foe Pilot Point at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Celina will take on rival Panther Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
