Trey Horne of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is the Georgia High School Football Player of the Week

Future Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket came up big in win over Providence Day of North Carolina.

After receiving nearly 30,000 votes, Trey Horne of Rabun Gap-Nacoochee (Rabun Gap) has earned MaxPreps Georgia High School Football Player of the Week honors.

Horne, a senior Georgia Tech commit, had 159 rushing yards and five touchdowns in 42-27 win over Providence Day (Charlotte, N.C.). He has 1,160 all-purpose yards and 18 scores on the season.

Voting ends Thursday at 3 p.m. Here are this week's candidates:

Tyler Atkinson, Grayson (Loganville): Sophomore linebacker picked up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown in a 57-10 win over Brookwood. Atkinson added 10 tackles, nine quarterback hurries and a sack as the Rams improved to 6-2.



Ryder Duffy, Roswell: Junior linebacker had nine tackles, two forced fumbles, one sack and an interception in a 49-7 victory over Sprayberry.

Eddrick Houston, Buford: Senior Ohio State commit forced two fumbles and intercepted two passes, one of which he returned for a touchdown in 66-0 win over Dacula.

Jaiden Jenkins, Parkview (Lilburn): Senior quarterback completed 82 percent of his passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns in 28-21 win over previously-undefeated Newton. The signal caller also scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground.

Justus Savage, Langston Hughes (Fairburn): Senior Indiana commit ran for 217 yards and two touchdowns in 47-14 victory over Newnan.

Lota Ugokwe, Walton (Marietta): Senior Yale commit had three sacks and five tackles as the Raiders defeated Cherokee 48-7.

C.J. Wiley, Milton: Junior wide receiver had six catches for 254 yards and three touchdowns, including a 92-yarder in 45-14 win over West Forsyth.
