Softball Recap: Chilton County's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Chilton County waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They put the hurt on the Verbena Red Devils with a sharp 16-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won 11 matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Macey Pierce was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brianna Goggins, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Pierce wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Chilton County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive contests.

Chilton County pushed their record up to 14-3-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs. As for Verbena, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Chilton County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-3 win against Marbury on the 11th. Verbena has also already played their next contest (against Maplesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
