Joppatowne hadn't done well against Edgewood recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Joppatowne Mariners pulled ahead with a 68-67 photo finish over the Edgewood Rams. This was a revenge game for the Mariners: when they faced off against the Rams back in January, they had to take a 60-45 defeat.

Joppatowne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braxton Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds. What's more, Jackson also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Phil Clark, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards.

Joppatowne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Joppatowne pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Coincidentally, Joppatowne and Edgewood will both be playing Patterson Mill the next time they take the court. Joppatowne will head out to face Patterson Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Edgewood will head out to face them on Thursday.
