Basketball Recap: Hamilton's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hamilton had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 3-4 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 65-57 win over the Gilbert Tigers. With that victory, the Huskies brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

MJ Cole was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 34 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16.3 points per game. Nate Tainsky was another key player, shooting 45% from the field on his way to 12 points.

As for Gilbert, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2. They haven't had much luck with Hamilton recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Gilbert still got an impressive performance from Malachi Jones, who almost dropped a double-double with 30 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock White, who posted eight points.

Hamilton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-35 win against Red Mountain on the 9th. As for Gilbert, they have also already played their next contest, a 59-51 victory against Sunnyside on the 9th.
