Petal's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Sumrall Bobcats. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered an 8-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Petal now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sumrall, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Petal will welcome Purvis at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sumrall, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against East Central at 10:30 a.m.
