Softball Recap: Taconic Takes a Loss

Taconic lost against Mount Anthony back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Thunder fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 4-3. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cheyann Goddard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Taconic saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Duhamel, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Taconic now has a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taconic will square off against Frontier Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Hawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Thunder surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mount Anthony, they will challenge Otter Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
