Basketball Recap: Jaiden Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Burncoat over South

Burncoat lost against South back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Burncoat Patriots fell just short of the South Colonels by a score of 61-59.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaiden Johnson, who posted 21 points. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Cheyton Marshall, who earned 17 points.

Burncoat's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for South, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.
