The Westminster Wildcats will head out to face off against the West Forsyth Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westminster will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Westminster saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Model.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21.
Among those leading the charge was Sophia Bonadies, who had five aces and four digs. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.
If Forsyth Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played West Forsyth, they should've done a better job of containing Adeline Wieler. The Wolverines came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 last Thursday thanks in part to Wieler, who had 26 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.
West Forsyth had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-11, 25-12, 25-23.
Westminster better focus on containing Macey Chupp and Olivia Heck as the pair were huge in West Forsyth's win. Chupp had seven digs and two aces, while Heck had 11 assists.
West Forsyth was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.
The victory got West Forsyth back to even at 16-16. As for Westminster, their record is now 31-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Westminster has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.5 aces per game. However, it's not like West Forsyth struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Westminster was able to grind out a solid win over West Forsyth in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
