Basketball Recap: Bishop Comes Up Short

If Bishop was feeling good fresh off their 59-33 takedown of Llano on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Badgers had to suffer through an 81-50 loss at the hands of the Jones Trojans. The Badgers haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Badgers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Miguel Valdez, who posted 13 points and three steals. Ricky Mendiondo was another key player, shooting 42% from the field to rack up 18 points.

Bishop's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Jones, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.

Looking ahead, Bishop will take on Smithson Valley at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. As for Jones, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lee at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
