Softball Preview: Independence 76ers vs. Overfelt Royals
The Independence 76ers will head out on the road to take on the Overfelt Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Independence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Independence made easy work of Hill and carried off a 14-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the 76ers.

Julieta Ramirez made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Ava Sanchez was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four RBI and one triple. Mackenzy Sauao was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meanwhile, Overfelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Gunderson, falling 16-2.
Independence's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Overfelt, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
