Softball Recap: New London Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crestview, New London was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bucyrus Redmen by a score of 9-6.

Paiton Shephard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gracie Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Maya Kilgrove was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

New London's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Bucyrus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

New London will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Redmen: the pair will be back at it again later today.
