Baseball Game Preview: Mississinewa Indians vs. Blackford Bruins

Mississinewa is 8-1 against Blackford since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Indians will be playing at home against the Bruins at 5:00 p.m. Mississinewa will be strutting in after a win while Blackford will be coming in after a defeat.

Mississinewa came out on top against Marion on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Indians walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Giants. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Giants recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Kallen Quaderer was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kellen Rock, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Blackford lost 10-2 to Oak Hill on Thursday.

Trenton Norton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Mississinewa now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Blackford, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mississinewa has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blackford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Mississinewa took their victory against Blackford in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
