Basketball Recap: Providence Catholic Comes Up Short

Providence Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Lorena Leopards and fell 64-12. The contest marked the Provets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Isabella Otero was Providence Catholic's leading scorer, having posted six points. Selene Cedillo held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Sophia Guerrero took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Providence Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Lorena, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Providence Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-12 defeat against Stephenville on the 13th. As for Lorena, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-20 win against Marion on the 13th.
