Soccer Recap: Central Takes a Loss

After soaring to ten goals the game before, Central was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 7-1 to the Northside Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Patriots are ranked 61st).

Central dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Northside, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central will host South Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Central has given up an average of 3.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Northside, they will be playing at home against Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.6 goals per game this season.
