Dalton had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Northwest Whitfield Bruins by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Catamounts in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won five in a row.

While Dalton won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 28-26.

Dalton can attribute much of their success to Anjalee Lemons, who had seven assists and three aces. That's the most aces Lemons has posted since back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Northwest Whitfield still got an impressive performance from Paola Cuna, who had ten digs.

Coincidentally, Dalton and Northwest Whitfield will both be playing Coahulla Creek the next time they take the court. The Catamounts will head out to face the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bruins will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
