Baseball Recap: Barstow Triumphs

Barstow took a 14-run defeat the last time they faced off against Granite Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Aztecs had just enough and edged out the Cougars 6-5.

The team relied heavily on Kahlil Pope, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ty Sikora - Ross, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The victory got Barstow back to even at 9-9. As for Granite Hills, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 13-8 record.

Barstow will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
