Baseball Recap: Mesa Comes Up Short

If Mesa was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Maricopa last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mesa Jackrabbits came up short against the Casteel Colts on Thursday, falling 12-1.

Mesa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gerardo Sanchez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Mesa dropped their record down to 2-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Casteel, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Coming up, Mesa will head out to face off against Westwood at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Casteel, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Chandler at 3:45 p.m.
