Softball Game Preview: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. St. Edward Green Wave

For the second straight game, Timothy Christian will face off against St. Edward. The Trojans will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Green Wave at 4:30 p.m. Timothy Christian has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Timothy Christian lost 12-5 to St. Edward on Monday.

For St. Edward's part, Alaina Nolan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Nolan was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since April 4th.

In other batting news, Sarah Gurley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Layne Dawson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

St. Edward was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timothy Christian only posted a batting average of .214.

The win got St. Edward back to even at 8-8. As for Timothy Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

St. Edward's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Timothy Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .493.
