Football Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Homer had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it eight. They came up short against the Wakefield Trojans, falling 40-14. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wakefield's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Jacob Borg was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 187 yards and five scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 127 yards and one touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes. Those 187 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. 127 of Borg's passing yards were hauled in by Mason Lamprecht, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

As of now, neither Homer nor Wakefield have any future games scheduled.
