            Volleyball Recap: Highland Scots vs. Independence Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            
Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Independence Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  3-1  back in September.
 Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-11, 17-25,  25-17.
 Tiffany Torres paced Highland's offense, picking up ten kills. Torres got some help from  Brooklynn Hill and her 29 assists. Hill also made an impact serving:  she shared the team lead in aces with  Madalyn Gonzalez, each putting up three.
 Independence found their leader in sophomore  Aria Moreno, who  had 15  digs and two  aces. Moreno is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had 13 or more in each of the last 12 games she's  played.
Highland's loss dropped their record down to 13-16-3. As for Independence,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 19-10-1.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Highland is set to  take on  their familiar foe Ridgeview  at 6:15  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Independence will  challenge  rival Bakersfield Christian  at 6:15  p.m.  on Tuesday.
