Baseball Recap: Mize Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Mize and Pisgah, and Pisgah kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 4-3 on Friday. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Dragons when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Trey Myers put in work no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Myers was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Mize's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Pisgah, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mize will venture away from home to face off against Columbia Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pisgah, they will head out to challenge Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
